183: Melon art

Tonight Lou and I drew on some melons. She made one into a mouse and I drew the bear, tea and cake on another. Some of the photos are a bit ropey since there was too much laughing to hold the phone camera straight. Ahem...

Lou getting to work on her mouse

The finished article, complete with mouse face

Bear. It reads: Brown the bear loves tea and cake. (It's true, he does)

Slightly blurry cake

Tea

Mouse and bear: beautiful.

182: Scalloway school logo

The pupils at the school  I work in planned a protest against its closure and made huge banners and posters to take with them. They asked me to draw the school logo onto one of them, so here it is:

181: World's largest drawing

An Open Day at school  so all classrooms and departments were open in the evening for parents and pupils to wander around and have a look. Anne and I went to the Primary end for a look and came across the world's longest drawing that they're making so we added our doodles to the rest.

I did a small bear. Fun.

I scrubbed up for the Open Day:

180: Brown the bear's brithday

The text reads: Brown hoped that his friends wouldn't judge him for his unprecedented display of emotion when he entered the surprise party.

I love this bear.

179: Brown the bear

I've made a little character called Brown the bear. He is a bear. Called Brown. He'll be popping up quite regularly and was inspired by a card my friend Cameron found in his desk drawer at work. I love him. Look at his little face...

The text reads: Brown the bear danced often, but he was only truly happy when busting a move with his best friend, Panda.

True.

178: Blue nudes

Some nudes in blue - I love the shapes of the back. And my eye thrown in too - blue day, blue eyes, blue pen.

177: Self-portrait in grey

Today I am grey and have small eyes narrowed in thought. It makes me look old, according to my pens.

Is this what I 'll look like when I'm old? Hmmm...

176: Live Laugh Love

Sound advice with pretty pictures to make it more appealing.

And another - this was inspired by the drawings by Leonard Cohen in The Book of Longing. It's amazing, read it.

173: Shetland ponies

Some Shetland ponies. I saw a photo of one in the Fair Isle book I was reading - the photos are lovely - and thought I'd draw one. The one below is a small horsey ornament I  got when I was teeny.

You can buy the book here - http://www.fairislebook.co.uk/

169: Sickly

Today I've been in bed all day feeling sickly. I sipped peppermint tea, talked a little on the phone, neglected my book and slept for longer than I expected. Urgh. Oh, and I drew this on the back of an envelope within easy read of the bed...

168: Nude

A nude study from my head. Continuous line - I like that she turned out a bit like a guitar.

167: A leafy mess

Leaves grew out of each other, I had no control whatsoever. I quite like it though: leafy.

166: Rubbish

Today was a trying and irritating day at work because we received some bad news so I drew a bin to represent the fact it was rubbish.

164: Iron Man II

Went to see Iron Man 2 with my brother tonight, it wasn't great but it was good fun. Action action action. This is a little Iron Man drawing to celebrate that aforementioned action action action.
